COUNSELING
It is our job, but more importantly, it is our passion to help you succeed. Whether you are seeking ways to regain financial control, qualify for a debt management program or just need answers to your monetary questions, turn to CCCS for help during troubling financial times. We provide a variety of financial counseling services to help you get back on the path to financial freedom.
Budget
By contacting one of our representatives, we can show you techniques for making sure the bills get paid each month. By looking at your income and expenses, we can help you control unnecessary spending and establish a sensible budget. In addition, our certified credit counselors will guide you through the process of restoring your credit and will enable you to make better credit decisions in the future.
Housing
If you are interested in purchasing a home, we will take you step-by-step, from contract to closing, through the home buying process. We can then show you what it takes to qualify for a mortgage, how to save for a down payment and even provide information regarding down payment assistance, if it is available. We can also help find lenders in your area who have mortgage products that fit your specific needs.
If you are behind one or more payments in your rent, mortgage or utilities, contact us immediately and we will help you prevent eviction, foreclosure or disconnection of your utility services.
Retirement and Social Security income is not always enough for senior citizens to make ends meet. Many financial institutions offer a reverse equity mortgage product. If you are 62 years of age or older, own your home or have a small mortgage, you may benefit from a reverse equity mortgage. We can help determine if this is a viable and smart solution for you.
Credit
Being aware of what your credit report says about you is extremely important. Potential employers, insurance companies, landlords, utility companies, and financial institutions use credit reports to determine if you are a “good risk.”
At CCCS, we examine and explain your credit report, and guide you through disputes, if necessary. By improving your creditworthiness, you can enjoy the many benefits that go along with a good credit score – lower borrowing costs, decreased insurance rates and better credit offers.
There is a way to regain control of your finances.
The first step is to schedule a credit counseling appointment with one of our consumer credit counselors who are trained and certified by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). Before you call us, you will need to gather all your current financial information. We will then review your household income and expenses to help you develop a monthly budget based on your personal financial situation.
Additionally, we recommend you contact the three major credit-reporting agencies to obtain your credit report(s).
- Equifax : 1-800-685-1111
- TransUnion: 1-800-916-8800
- Experian: 1-800-749-7576
All counseling is private and confidential.
